2023 GCL SOUTH CHAMPIONS
Recap: 

The Moeller Freshman won the 2023 Freshman GCL Championship today for the 7^th consecutive year by downing the St. Xavier Bombers. 

Teagan Cumberland went the distance on the mound to beat the Bombers for the 2^nd time within the week. Cumberland allowed 2 unearned runs on 3 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. 

Down 1-0 going into the bottom of the 4^th inning, Alex Lott and Carson Shroyer walked. With Dante Ware II pinch running for Lott, Tyler Zimmerman stepped up and drilled a double to right center field to score Ware and Shroyer and put the Crusaders up 2-0 and a lead they would not give up. 

With 1 out, Teagan Cumberland followed Zimm's double with a walk and JayC Stonestreet singled. Carson Curran was hit by the pitch to score Zimmerman and Landen Adams singled to score Teagan. 

Adam Holstein drew a bases loaded walk to score Moeller's 5^th run. Jake Gaerke also had a 5^th inning triple to round out the Moeller hitting.  

The Freshman record is now (20-5) and (6-3) and crowned as 2023 GCL Champions.
