Recap:
The Moeller Frosh rallied for a 5 inning run rule game against Lakota East at the Moeller Athletic Complex.
Twenty two of our 25 players got into the game. It was Tyler day on the mound.
Tyler Willenbrink and
Tyler Heinen combined to hold East to 1 run on 2 hits.
Willenbrink tossed 3 innings to pick up the win and Heinen tossed the last 2 innings.
The Crusaders set the tone early in the 1
st inning.
Adam Holstein and
Alex Lott both walked to start the inning.
Carson Shroyer lined a double down the line to score Holstein and Lott.
Tyler Zimmerman banged a base hit and
Jake Gaerke doubled to the wall to score Shroyer and Zimmermen.
Dalton Schottmiller singled to score Gaerke to post Moeller's 5
th run of the inning.
That proved all the Crusaders needed. But they were not done.
In the 2
nd inning, Holstein walked as did Shroyer to set up
Tyler Zimmerman's 2 RBI double. Gaerke walked and
Teagan Cumberland singled to score Zimm.
Schottmiller cranked his 2
nd hit in as many innings. Dante Ware walked and
JayC Stonestreet singled to post 7 more runs in the second inning.
Moe added 3 more in the 3
rd inning.
Jack Ujvagi,
Graham Cohen, and Jason Beacock all walked and scored to go along with
Mason Patrick's RBI infield hit.
The final 2 runs were posted in a Aiden Sullivan and a RBI double down the leftfield line by
Indy Groskopf.
The Moeller Freshman record goes to (15-4) and (4-3) in the GCL.
