Recap:
Moeller dropped a close one today at St. Xavier HS.
This game turned out to be a pitchers battle between St. X lefty Schafer and Moeller's
Josh Adelsperger.
The game was a 0-0 tie until the bottom of the 4
th inning when X scored their first run. They added 2 more runs in the 5
th to take a 3-0 lead. But, in true Moeller fashion, the game was not over.
The Crusaders came fighting back and in the top of the 7
th inning, pinch hitter,
Alex Tucker led off with a walk. With 1 out,
Alex Lott pinch hit and drove a single up the middle.
Kayde Ridley followed with a RBI single sending Tucker home.
Aidan Sullivan grounded out and Lott and Ridley moved up to 2
nd and 3
rd to put the tying runs in scoring position.
Carson Shroyer, who had doubled earlier in the game drove a solid line drive to left field to end the game.
Aidan Sullivan and
Tyler Zimmerman also collected hits in the game.
Adelsperger pitched 4.2 innings allowing 3 runs, all earned on 3 hits, 4 walks, and 2 strikeouts.
Jack Ujvagi tossed 1.1 innings with no hits and only 9 pitches.
The Moeller Freshman record is now (6-2) and (1-2) in the GCL.
