The 2023 edition of the Moeller Freshman Baseball Team opened the season with a 4-0 victory over the Ryle Raiders on their home field in Union, Kentucky. 

Starting pitcher, Tyler Willenbrink pitched 5 scoreless innings allowing the Raiders 2 hits with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. 

Jack Ujvagi tossed the last 2 innings to preserve the Crusader shutout. Jack gave up 1 hit, 1 walk and hit 1 batter. 

Moeller scored their first run in the top of the 2^nd inning. Tyler Zimmerman singled and Jake Gaerke followed with a double to the right center field wall scoring courtesy runner Dante Ware II. 

In the top of the 5^th inning the Crusaders posted another 3 runs. With 1 out, Desmon Gault Jr. banged out his 2^nd hit of the day. 

Landen Adams and Aidan Sullivan walked to set up Teagan Cumberland's 2 RBI base hit to drive in Adams and Sullivan to send Moeller up 4-0
