Elder gave the Moeller Freshman all they wanted today, holding them to their lowest run output of the year, a score of 2-1.
Elder scored in the top of the 1
st inning on 3 walks and a fielder's choice. But, the Moeller pitchers stood tall and shut out the Panthers in the next 6 innings allowing only 1 hit the rest of the game.
Logan Rosenberger started the game and picked up the victory tossing 5 innings on 1 earned run, 1 hit, 4 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Tucker Wilburn earned the save by pitching the last 2 innings of shutout, no-hit baseball, walking 1 and striking out 4. Three of those 3 he got by striking out the side in the 7
th inning.
Moeller scored their 1
st run in the bottom of the 2
nd inning.
Griffin Booth walked and went to 3
rd on
Jackson Porta's base hit. Booth scored on a
Tucker Wilburn fielder's choice.
Moeller scored the winning run when
Carter Christenson led off the inning with a walk and stole 2
nd base.
Jovan Love also walked.
After Christenson and Love moved up on a wild pitch,
Joey Watts hit a foul pop fly behind 1
st base and Christenson alertly tagged up and scored Moeller winning run.
The Moeller season record goes to 16-0 and a GCL Championship year record of 8-0!
