The Milford Eagles made the Moeller Freshman come from behind for the first time this year on an excellent pitching performance by the Eagle pitchers.
Milford scored first in the top of the 3
rd inning off Moeller starter
Tucker Wilburn. Moeller answered in the home half of the 4
th inning, with 2 outs,
Connor Scoggins singled, and so did
Joey Watts.Â
Brody Foltz sent a line drive to left center field to score Scoggins and tie the game.Â
In the top of 5
th inning Milford added 2 more runs to go up 3-1. The bottom of the 6
th inning saw the Frosh add 1 more run on a double by
Tucker Wilburn who then scored on a Scoggins fielder's choice. But never count the Crusaders out of the game.Â
Down 3-2, Moeller led off the home half of the 7
th inning with a
Jake Bell base hit to center field and stole 2
nd base. With 1 out,
Carter Christenson singled to score Bell and tie the game.
Jovan Love reached on a fielder's choice, Wilburn walks to load the bases. It was
Shane Duke that got hit-by-the- pitch for the walk off Crusader win, 4-3.Â
Tucker Wilburn pitched the first 4 innings allowing 1 earned run, on 2 hits, 4 walks, and 6 strikeouts.Â
Ethan Childs tossed the next 2 innings, allowing 2 runs, 1 of which was earned, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, and 1 hit batter. Â
Finn O'Keefe pitched the last inning to pick up the win. Finn only faced 3 batters with 1 strikeout. Â
The Moeller Freshman record goes to 9-0 and 4-0 to lead the GCL.
