Down 7-3 in the 6
th inning, our Moeller Freshman scored 8 runs in the home half of the inning to take the victory from the CHCA JV team.
The Crusaders got things moving in the 1
st inning when
Eric Fleetwood singled to score
Charlie Valencic who walked to leadoff the inning. But it was the bottom of the 6
th inning when the CHCA pitchers could not find the strike zone.
Unbelievably, they walked 10 Moeller batters and 3 more were hit by the pitch.
The game was then called due to darkness. Moeller was only able to bang out 4 hits in the game.
Charlie Valencic and
Tucker Wilburn doubled and
Carter Christenson and
Eric Fleetwood each got base hits.
Joey Watts was the starting pitcher tossing 2.1 innings allowing 5 runs, 1 of which was earned, on 2 hits 3 walks, and 4 strikeouts.
Jovan Love followed with the next 3.1 innings allowing 2 runs both earned, 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Ethan Childs then pitched the last .1 inning to pick up the win, walking 2 and striking out 1 batter.
The Moeller Freshman record goes to 6-0 overall and 3-0 to lead the GCL.
