The 2022 edition of the Moeller Freshman Baseball Team opened the season with an impressive 15-2 victory over Lakota East.
Moeller scored first,
Charlie Valencic led off the game with a line drive shot off the left field wall for a double.
He was advanced to third on a ground out by
Shane Duke and scored when
Eric Fleetwood reached on an error.
Moeller followed that up in the second inning with 2 outs,
Tucker Wilburn and
Will Schirmer walked.
Ethan Childs singled to drive home Wilburn and Schirmer and Childs scored on Valencic and
Carter Christenson walks to send the Crusaders up to a 4-0 lead.
The Crusaders applied the knock out punch in the third inning with base hits from
Eric Fleetwood,
Jovan Love, a triple by
Matthew Fogler and double from
Logan Rosenberger.
Moeller posted a total of 15 runs on 15 hits. Others posting hits in the game were,
