Toby Hueber on grabbing his 25th career win which breaks the Moeller record for most wins by a pitcher in a career!
The record was previously held by Bill Wesley who went (24-6) from the years of 1969-1971.
Recap: Two Pitchers Team Up as Moeller Shuts Out Walsh Jesuit
Moeller defeated Walsh Jesuit 2-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Carson Marsh got Alejandro Covas to hit into a fielder's choice to finish off the game.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Moeller pitchers struck out six, while Ryan Piech sat down six.
One bright spot for Walsh Jesuit was a single by Covas in the first inning.
Toby Hueber took the win for the Crusaders. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out five. Marsh threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Piech took the loss for the Warriors. The righty lasted six innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six.
Nathan Manley,
CJ Richard,
Ethan Sweat, and
Clay Burdette each collected one hit to lead Moeller. The Crusaders didn't commit a single error in the field. Manley had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
Covas led Walsh Jesuit with three hits in four at bats.
#1 Moeller improves to (30-3) this season with just one more game to go.
