Recap: With Toby On The Mound, Moeller Shuts Out Fairmont
Toby Hueber threw a shutout to lead Moeller past Fairmont 10-0 on Thursday.
Moeller secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the second inning. The Crusaders offense in the inning came from singles by
Carter Christenson and
Conlan Daniel and home runs by
Clay Burdette and
Charlie Niehaus.
One bright spot for Fairmont was a double by Gabe Ledbetter in the fifth inning.
Hueber earned the victory on the mound for the Crusaders. Hueber surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Keegan Hart took the loss for the Firebirds. The pitcher allowed six hits and seven runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.
Moeller socked two home runs on the day. Niehaus had a homer in the second inning. Burdette went for the long ball in the second inning.
The Crusaders collected ten hits. Burdette, Niehaus, Christenson, and Hueber each collected multiple hits for Moeller. Hueber, Christenson, Niehaus, and Burdette all had two hits to lead the Crusaders.
Ledbetter led the Firebirds with one hit in three at bats.
Moeller improves to (27-3) this season. Back to back OHSAA District Champs!
