Recap: Pitching By Toby Hueber Shuts Out Northwest Knights, #1 Moeller Takes The Win
Toby Hueber didn't allow a single run as the Crusaders defeated Northwest Knights 10-0 on Thursday. Hueber allowed just two hits.
Moeller got things moving in the first inning. The Crusaders scored one run when
Nathan Manley singled.
Moeller put up four runs in the second inning.
Carter Christenson,
CJ Richard, and Manley each had RBIs in the frame.
A single by Bowling in the second inning was a positive for Northwest Knights.
Hueber earned the win for the Crusaders. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Smith took the loss for Northwest Knights. The pitcher went four innings, allowing nine runs on six hits and striking out one.
Moeller tallied one home run on the day.
Clay Burdette went yard in the fourth inning.
The Crusaders tallied eight hits in the game. Christenson and Manley each collected multiple hits for Moeller.
Manley and Christenson all had two hits to lead the Crusaders. Moeller didn't commit a single error in the field. Manley had the most chances in the field with nine.
Ethan Sweat led the Crusaders with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases total.
#1 Moeller improves to (25-3) this season. The Crusaders advance to a round 3 matchup with #10 Princeton on Tuesday, May 23 at Kremchek Stadium.
