The Vauxhall Academy Jets Run Away With Early Lead in Victory Over Crusaders!
Moeller fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-6 loss to Vauxhall Academy on Monday. Vauxhall Academy scored on an error, a fielder's choice by Carson Boyko, a single by Stevyn Andrachick, and a single by Colin Fisher in the second inning.
Despite the loss, Moeller did collect two hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Vauxhall Academy had seven hits on the way to victory.
After Vauxhall Academy scored two runs in the top of the sixth, the Crusaders answered with two of their own. Vauxhall Academy scored when Kyle Yip doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Moeller then answered when
Toby Hueber singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and an error scored one run for the Crusaders.
The Jets pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored one run for the Jets,
Clay Burdette induced Boyko to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Andrachick singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Fisher singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Drew Lenehan earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Vauxhall Academy. The pitcher surrendered four runs on one hit over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Ty Clemett threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Clemett recorded the last ten outs to earn the save for the Jets.
Burdette took the loss for Moeller. Burdette lasted four innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out two.
Hueber went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Crusaders in hits.
Vauxhall Academy collected seven hits. Fisher and Yip each racked up multiple hits for Vauxhall Academy.
