Recap: Three Moeller Pitchers Combine to Defeat Conner in Shutout Game
 
Moeller defeated Conner 1-0 on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Zion Theophilus struck out Brody Mangold to finish off the game.
 
The pitching was strong on both sides. The Crusaders pitchers struck out eight, while Oliver Kerns sat down seven.
 
The Crusaders got things moving in the first inning. Clay Burdette singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
 
A single by Cory Henson in the first inning was a positive for Conner.
 
Luke Pappano was credited with the victory for Moeller. The hurler surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out four. 

Carson Marsh and Theophilus entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Theophilus recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Moeller.
 
Kerns took the loss for Conner. The bulldog went six innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out seven.
 
CJ Richard and Burdette each had one hit to lead the Crusaders. Moeller didn't commit a single error in the field. Nathan Manley had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
 
Henson went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Conner in hits. Conner was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Logan Tucker made the most plays with seven.

Moeller improves to (16-3) this season. St. Xavier up NEXT at UC!!!
