Recap: The Crusaders Fall Short to Elder, 6-5
Elder took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Summers singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Vaughn doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Hilton singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Wood got the win for Elder. The fireballer lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out five. Eckstein recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Elder.
Kellan Klosterman took the loss for Moeller. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on eight hits and striking out five.
Toby Hueber went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Crusaders in hits.
Elder tallied ten hits in the game. Schosler, Ohmer, Summers, and Hilton all collected multiple hits for Elder. Elder didn't commit a single error in the field. Summers had six chances in the field, the most on the team.
