It was payback day for the La Salle Lancers. After suffering an earlier 2-1 loss to the Lancers, the Moeller Frosh made a statement today early in the game.
Top of the 1
st inning,
Kayde Ridley led off with a walk and stole second base.
Aidan Sullivan doubled sending Ridley home.
Carson Shroyer was hit by the pitch to set up a
Jake Gaerke run scoring double.
Tyler Zimmerman followed by getting hit by the pitch to load the bases.
Adam Holstein laced a double to score Shroyer and Gaerke.
Moeller is up 4-0 and it was not over.
Alex Lott grounded out and
Carson Curran who was pinch running for Zimmerman scored.
The 6 run first inning ended with a
JayC Stonestreet RBI single. Hitting leaders for the Crusaders were
Tyler Zimmerman 3 for 3,
Adam Holstein 2 for 4 and 4 RBI's.
Teagan Cumberland also banged out a hit for the Big Moe.
Josh Adlesperger started on the mound for Moeller pitching 4.2 innings allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits to pick up the win.
Jack Ujvagi closed out the game tossing 2.2 innings of shutout baseball, scattering 2 hits.
The Moeller Freshman record moves to (9-2) and (2-2) in the GCL.
