Freshman Baseball vs. West Clermont, Butler, and Centerville Recaps!

MOELLER 14    WEST CLERMONT  8

The Moeller offense rolled today scoring 14 runs on 19 hits.

The Crusaders were led by 4 hits from Matthew McQueary including a double, 3 hits from Andy Bennett including 2 doubles.

2 more hits by Grant McCullough,  Nolan Lewis and Greyson Homoelle.

Joshua Codner, Matthew Clarke, Connor Bitler, and Ryan Domingo rounded out the hit parade. 

The pitching duties were handled by Ryan Domingo, Henry Tincher and Owen Cornett with Domingo picking up the win tossing 4 2/3 innings. 

The Moeller overall records goes to 18-6 and the GCL Champions are 7-2 in the GCL.

Connor Bitler started the game on the bump today, tossing 5 innings of 1 run baseball to pick up the win for the Moeller Frosh. 

Andy Bennett and Grant McCullough each pitched 1 inning to close the game. 

Moeller scored 3 in the top of the 2^nd inning. Matthew Clarke walked and stole 2^nd base.

Back to back hits from Greyson Homoelle and Owen Cornett and an E8 off the bat of Matthew McQueary put Moe up 3-0.

In the 3^rd inning, Joshua Codner singled and Andy Bennett followed with a bomb, Home Run, to score 2 more runs.  

Bennett led the Crusaders with 3 hits including his home run and a double.  

Matthew Clarke, Greyson Homoelle, and Grant McCullough each contributed 2 hits, McCullough's included a double.

KJ Thomas also added a base hit. Moeller's record extends to 19-6 overall and 7-2 to lead the GCL.

In the final game of the year, the Moeller Freshman finished strong, gathering their 20^th win of the season.

This marks 8 years in a row that the Freshman have won 20 games or more. 

Finn Barhorst picked up the win, tossing 5 innings and allowing only 1 run on 1 hit while walking 2 batters and striking out 8 Centerville Elks. 

The Crusaders went up early. In the bottom of the 1^st inning, Rocco Vitucci and Matthew McQueary led off with back to back hits. 

With 1 out, Aney Bennett walked, Matthew Clarke banged a base hit, KJ Thomas walks, Connor Bitler lines a hit the left and the Crusaders are up 4-0 and never look back.  

The score 2 more in the 2^nd inning on a McQueary walk, Joshua Codner triple and KJ Thomas base hit. Not done yet.  

Two innings later, 4 more runs. Codner base hit, Bennett hit by the pitch, and walk to KJ and a big triple from Connor Bitler.  

Hitting leaders were Josh Codner, Connor Bitler, and Owen Cornett with 2 hits each.  

Rocco Vitucci, Ryan Domingo, Chris Reed and KJ Thomas all registered hits.  

The Moeller Freshman Baseball Team finishes the season with an overall record of 20-6, 7-2 in the GCL.

10^th GCL Championship in a row, 30^th GCL Championship and 702 win in the last 36 years.
