Recap: Moeller Takes Early Lead in Victory Over Kings
Moeller jumped out to an early lead over Kings and took home a 5-1 victory on Saturday. The Crusaders scored on a single by
Toby Hueber, a single by
Clay Burdette, and a single by
Connor Christenson in the first inning.
Zion Theophilus led the Crusaders to victory on the pitcher's mound. The right hander surrendered one run on six hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one.
Tyler Heflin and
Sam Scuglik entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Crawford took the loss for Kings. The bulldog surrendered five runs on seven hits over three innings, walking one.
Moeller scattered seven hits in the game. Burdette and Hueber each racked up multiple hits for the Crusaders. Burdette led Moeller with three hits in three at bats. The Crusaders were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Burdette made the most plays with ten.
Kings totaled six hits. Kelly and Pettey all collected multiple hits for Kings.
