Kellan Klosterman threw a gem on Monday for Moeller, allowing zero runs and besting Elder by a score of 11-0.
Moeller secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to walks by
Will McCullough,
Conlan Daniel,
CJ Richard, and
Connor Christenson, by Christenson,
Charlie Niehaus,
Nathan Manley, and
Ethan Sweat, and a single by
Toby Hueber.
In the first inning, the Crusaders got their offense started.
Clay Burdette doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Moeller tallied nine runs in the third inning. The Crusaders offense in the inning was led by Christenson, McCullough, Daniel, Richard, Hueber, and Niehaus, all driving in runs in the frame.
One bright spot for Elder was a single by Schosler in the second inning.
Klosterman got the start for the Crusaders. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking zero.
Wood led things off on the mound for Elder. Wood lasted two and a third innings, allowing five hits and seven runs while striking out one. Westerkamp and Will Ramsey entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Niehaus led Moeller with two hits in three at bats. The Crusaders were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Manley made the most plays with six.
Moeller improves to (7-2), (2-2) in the GCL with the win!
