Moeller defeated Princeton 9-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Zion Theophilus struck out Morgenroth to finish off the game.
The Crusaders got on the board in the first inning.
Moeller tallied three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by the Crusaders was led by
Connor Christenson and
CJ Richard, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
A double by Busch in the fourth inning was a positive for Princeton.
Max Tramontana was the winning pitcher for Moeller. Tramontana lasted five and a third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out eight. Theophilus threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Edrington took the loss for Princeton. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out four.
Moeller tallied ten hits on the day.
Keelan Daniel,
Blane Schmitt, and Richard all managed multiple hits for the Crusaders. Daniel went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Moeller in hits. Daniel led Moeller with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.
Moeller was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
Nathan Manley made the most plays with 12.
Busch led Princeton with one hit in three at bats.
Moeller improves to (26-2) this season, and will take on Springboro in the District Championship on Thursday, May 26th at Centerville!
