Both teams were strong on the hill Thursday, but Moeller defeated Colerain 3-1.
Toby Hueber allowed just three hits to Colerain.
In the second inning, the Crusaders got their offense started. Moeller scored two runs when
Nathan Manley homered to deep left field.
Hueber took the win for the Crusaders. Hueber surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Mason took the loss for Colerain. The hurler surrendered three runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out one.
Moeller smacked one home run on the day. Manley went yard in the second inning.
Moeller racked up seven hits on the day.
Keelan Daniel and
Charlie Niehaus each collected multiple hits for the Crusaders. Niehaus and Daniel each collected two hits to lead Moeller.
Colerain was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Carpenter had the most chances in the field with five.
The Crusaders started tourney play off on the right foot. Moeller improves to (24-2) on the season.
