Kellan Klosterman had all the right stuff on Thursday for the Crusaders, allowing zero runs and besting Lakota West by a score of 10-0.
Moeller secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by the Crusaders was led by
Nathan Manley,
Nolan Krekeler,
CJ Richard, and
Toby Hueber, all driving in runs in the inning.
Moeller fired up the offense in the first inning, when
Blane Schmitt's sac fly scored one run for the Crusaders.
The Crusaders notched six runs in the fourth inning. Moeller batters contributing to the big inning included Manley, Krekeler, Richard, and Hueber, who each had RBIs in the inning.
A single by Grady Wullenweber in the second inning was the lone positive for Lakota West.
Klosterman got the win for the Crusaders. The right hander surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out three.
Logan Melford took the loss for Lakota West. The right hander allowed six hits and ten runs over four and a third innings, striking out six.
Krekeler, Schmitt, Richard,
Griff Cady, Hueber, and Manley all had one hit to lead the Crusaders. Moeller was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Krekeler had the most chances in the field with nine.
Moeller improves to (21-2) on the season with the playoffs fast approaching!
