Conlan Daniel was bad news for opposing pitchers on Thursday, driving in four runs on one hit to lead the Crusaders past Conner 15-8 on Thursday night. Daniel drove in 4 runs on a grand slam in the second inning. The first GRAND SLAM of the 2022 season for the Crusaders!
Moeller earned the victory despite allowing Conner to score six runs in the fifth inning. Conner's big inning was driven by singles by Yuenger and Hubbard, a walk by Crawford, a groundout by Early, and by Stidham.
In the second inning, Moeller got their offense started when Daniel homered on a 1-1 count, scoring four runs.
Moeller tallied five runs in the fourth inning. The Crusaders put the pressure on, lead by a home run by
Nathan Manley and by
Blane Schmitt.
Nate Gaerke earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Moeller. Gaerke surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out four and walking one.
Ryan Benne and
Carson Marsh entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Bucks took the loss for Conner. The pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs on four hits and striking out three.
Moeller launched two home runs on the day. Manley went deep in the fourth inning. Daniel had a four bagger in the second inning.
The Crusaders racked up eight hits in the game. Manley and Schmitt all had multiple hits for Moeller. Schmitt and Manley all had two hits to lead the Crusaders.
Conner tallied ten hits in the game. Richtor and Yuenger each had multiple hits for Conner. Richtor led Conner with four hits in four at bats.
Moeller Baseball improves to (16-1), (6-1) in the GCL South!
