MOELLER 6   FENWICK 1

After walking the first 2 batters, a base hit, and a hit batter in the first inning, Max Tromontana, settled down to strike out the side.  He went on to no hit the Fenwick Falcons over the next 3 innings to pick up Moeller's 15 Freshman win of the year.  Max struck out a total of 7 hitters in the 4 innings pitched.  Nate Gaerke pitched the last 3 shutout innings allowing only 1 hit and 1 strikeout.  Moeller scored 2 runs in the top of the 3rd inning on a leadoff double by Ryan Benne.  Griff Cady walked and stole second base and Zach Carty reached on an error by the centerfielder to score Benne and Cady. In the 4th inning, a single by Luke Widener and back to back doubles by Griff Cady and Zach Carty scored Moeller's 3rd and 4th runs.  In the bottom of the 5th inning Colin Brandenburg hit a bomb over the left field fence for the Freshman's first home run of the year.  The Crusader's scored their 6th and final run in the 6th inning when Ryan Benne singled, went to second base on a wild pitch and scored when Sebastian Conley lined a single to left center field.  The Moeller Freshman overall record moves to 15-1 and 4-0 in the GCL.
