Troy and Xavier Invitational Results….Week Four Update

In an electrifying atmosphere under the lights with over 3000 runners participating, the Crusader Cross Country Gold Squad finished 4
th out of 40 teams with 231 points in the Troy Twilight Invitational at Troy Memorial Stadium in Troy, Ohio on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
In addition, earlier that same morning, the Crusader Blue Squad finished 3
rd of 4 teams with 73 points at the St. Xavier Invitational at St. Xavier High School.
For the Gold Squad, Junior
Preston Wesley was Moeller's top finisher in 13
th place (out of 355 runners) in a time of 16:02. Also scoring: Junior Brock Gruber (17
th – 16:11), Junior
Owen Speed (33
rd – 16:30), Junior Zach Lazor (60
th – 16:51), and Freshman
Paul Eckstein (128
th – 17:43). Rounding out Varsity were Duncan Shirley, Steve Schuette,
Carson Todd,
Murphy Maynes, and Jake Jankowski.
For the Blue Squad, Freshman
Hayden Sorg crossed the line first for Moeller in 44
th place (out of 168 runners) in time of 19:51. Scoring for the blue squad: Senior

The team returns to racing on Saturday, September, 21st, 2024, with a split squad with the Varsity "Gold" squad running at in the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky with a 9:30am start; while the Varsity "Blue" squad will be running at the Midwest Catholic Championship at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio with a 1:20pm start time.
