GCL Results....Week Eight Update!

The GCL South Cross Country Championships (combined with the GGCL) were held Saturday, October 11
th, 2025 at the Christ's Church Mason in Mason, Ohio...home to Moeller's "Primetime" Invitational Meet as well. On behalf of everyone associated with Moeller Cross Country and the GCL/GGCL, we want to thank Christ's Church Mason for once again allowing us to use their grounds for our league meet. It's a great venue, and we greatly appreciate their hospitality. Thank you again!!
In GCL Varsity action, #4 State ranked St. Xavier won their 15
th consecutive title with a score of 25. Moeller finished second with 37. Elder third with 74, and La Salle fourth with 120.
For Moeller, the top individual finisher this year was Senior
Brock Grubert in 2
nd place with a time of 16:21. Also scoring were Senior
Preston Wesley (4
th – 16:27), Senior
Owen Speed (5
th – 16:27), Sophomore
Paul Eckstein (12
th – 17:11), and Sophomore
Hayden Sorg (14
th – 17:25).
Earning GCL All-Star Honors on First Team:
Brock Grubert,
Preston Wesley, and
Owen Speed. Second Team
Paul Eckstein and
Hayden Sorg.
In the Junior Varsity race, Moeller's squad finished 3
rd with 56 points. Sophomore
Luke Long was Moeller's top finisher in that race in 6
th place with a time of 17:34. Also scoring were
Jacob Jankowski,
Murphy Maynes,
Zachary Guthrie, and
Andrew Angeles.
In the Freshmen race, that squad finished 3rd with 74 points.
Andrew Bedel was the top finisher in 10
th place 4 with a time of 19:25. Also scoring where
Gabriel Angeles,
Joseph Picard,
Wyatt Bucheit, and
Griffin Hantak.
Finally, for the Open race, Moeller's highest finisher was Senior Sam Sharpshair in 13
th place with a time of 18:35.

The postseason continues for the Varsity squad on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 with the OHSAA Division One Region 3 Championship in Troy, Ohio. The top seven teams will advance to the State Championship the following weekend.
