Final from Princeton.

#5 MOELLER  38
#9 MASON  3

#5 Moeller advances to its third straight OHSAA Regional Final.

The Crusaders will play #3 Lakota West next Friday, November 17 at Mason High School.

This will be the third straight year that the Crusaders and the Firebirds will meet in the Regional Final.

Game Recap:

The Crusaders didn't waste any time on Friday night at Viking Stadium.

Moeller scored on their very first possession of the game and didn't look back.

Senior captain Jordan Marshall took a screen pass 63 yards to the house to open up the scoring for Big Moe.

Moeller followed that up with two more scoring drives on the arm of sophomore quarterback Matt Ponatoski

Ponatoski connected with Roman Mason and Preston Smith for two of his five first half touchdown passes.

Before the Comets could even realize what hit them, the score was 22-0 at the end of the first quarter.

It was more of the same in the second quarter for the Crusaders as the offense continued to click.

Senior tight end Eli Jacon-Duffy and Matt Ponatoski connected on a 51 yard touchdown just before halftime.

This was Ponatoski's fifth first half touchdown pass bringing the score to 35-3 at the break.

Ponatoski finished the night 16-21 for 298 yards and 5 touchdown passes.

With this performance Matt Ponatoski becomes the All Time Single Season Passing Leader in Moeller Football history.

He breaks Noah Geselbracht's '22 previous record (2021). Congratulations Matt!!!

On top of this record breaking performance, the defense was fantastic once again.

This shouldn't come as a shock to Crusader fans, this defense has been outstanding since week 4.

The leader defensively for Big Moe was senior linebacker Kyler Paul

Paul finished the night with 9 total tackles, 4 solo, and a massive interception.

Junior safety Micah Rice also recorded an interception for the Crusader defense.

Moeller only allowed 3 points on their way to a dominating 38-3 victory.

The Crusaders advance back to the Regional Finals for the third straight season.

#5 Moeller will battle #3 Lakota West AGAIN for the OHSAA Regional Championship.

See you Friday, November 17 at Mason High School Crusader fans. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.
