Final Score at MSJ.

MOELLER  47
ST. IGNATIUS  7

#2 Moeller improves to (5-3) this season after a dominating win over St. Ignatius.

Big matchup with #1 St. Edward next Saturday, October 14 at First Federal Lakewood Stadium.

Recap:

Big Moe took care of business for the 4th straight week knocking off St. Ignatius at Mount St. Joseph University.

The Crusaders delivered a spectacular performance on a day where they not only celebrated their seniors but honored longtime football coach Steve Klonne.

The Moeller offense got out to a very fast start early in the first quarter.

Matt Ponatoski and Jovan Love connected on a beautiful 32 yard touchdown strike.

Moeller would follow that up with two more scores to make it 20-0 late in the 1st quarter.

St. Ignatius answered with a 96 yard kickoff return for a touchdown, which would be their only score of the day.

Sophomore quarterback Matt Ponatoski was very efficient in the win. Ponatoski finished 19-23 for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Michigan commit Jordan Marshall was the workhorse on offense again for the Crusaders.

Marshall finished with 21 carries for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns. The senior running back gashed the Wildcats on two separate 49 yard touchdown runs.

Preston Smith was the leading receiver for Big Moe, finishing with 6 receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown.

The Moeller offense has begun to fire on all cylinders these last few weeks. However, the defense has continued to be the story.

Moeller's defense or "Havoc Mob" was able to force 3 more St. Ignatius turnovers on Saturday.

Senior Nick Leonard and junior Micah Rice each recorded an INT.

Jewett Hayes and Kyler Paul also got in on the fun combining on a strip sack and fumble recovery.

That's been the story of the last 5 weeks, this defense causing havoc for opposing offenses.

Junior Griff Daley lead the way for the Moeller defense finishing with 4 solo tackles against the Wildcats.

St. Ignatius had no answers as the boys were able to cruise to a dominant 40 point win.

Next up for the Crusaders is a massive matchup with #1 St. Edward.

Moeller will travel north to First Federal Lakewood Stadium on Saturday, October 14.

LET'S GO BIG MOE!!! BEAT ST. EDWARD!!! THANK YOU SENIORS!!!
