Moeller advances past Oak Hills

Crusaders Win!

It was a cold and wet night at Norwood's Shea Stadium as the Moeller Crusaders dominated the Oak Hills Highlanders.

Moeller was able to defeat Oak Hills 35-14 on Friday night to begin their OHSAA playoff run.

The Crusaders used the first quarter to really put this mismatch out of reach early.

On Oak Hills second play from scrimmage, #11 Rashaad Glenn was able to pick off the Highlanders quarterback and return it 23 yards for a touchdown.

After a quick 3 and out on the next Highlanders possession, the Moeller offense would score on their very first play from scrimmage.

Geselbracht connected with Tennel Bryant on a 53-yard touchdown flip pass.

Moeller would immediately follow that up with another 3-play touchdown drive capped off by a Jordan Marshall touchdown run.

The would put the Crusaders quickly out to a 21-0 lead and they never really looked back.

The Highlanders had trouble keeping up with the size and speed of Moeller throughout this matchup.

Oak Hills was not able to score until the 4th quarter, when Moeller had most of their 3rd and 4th stringers in the game.

Even though the Crusaders were not really tested in this matchup, we got to see some of the depth this Crusaders team has.

Some Men of Moeller got the chance to play Friday night in the 2nd half for the first time all season.

It was an awesome moment for these players, including a handful of freshmen who got to get their first taste of varsity action.

The Crusaders battled until the very last whistle in hopes of shutting out Oak Hills, however the Highlanders were able to find the endzone twice in the 4th quarter.

Even with the two late scores Moeller was dominant in this game. It was 35-0 before the last two touchdowns.

Moeller will look to carry over the momentum from their playoff victory to this Friday night.

The Crusaders will host Fairfield High School at Shea Stadium.

Kickoff is at 7 PM, so come on out to Norwood and help cheer on these Moeller Crusaders to the next round of the playoffs.
