Tony Acito- Varsity Defensive Line Coach

Tony Acito enters his 27th year of coaching football and begins his second tenure at Archbishop Moeller High School as the defensive line coach. Tony's coached at Elder High School, Roger Bacon High School, Covington Catholic High School and Badin High School. In addition, he has worked with some of the finer coaches in the city including Tom Grippa, Scott Dattilo, Dave Wirth, Dan Starkey, Bob Crable, Rick Thompson, and legendary Moeller offensive line coach, Jim Higgins as well as Kentucky High School Hall of Fame coach Lynn Ray.

For the past nine years, Tony has served as the defensive line coach at Mount St. Joseph University (MSJ) under Rod Huber and Tyler Hopperton. While at MSJ, Tony helped the Lions to the HCAC conference championship and an NCAA playoff appearance. His defensive line over the course of those nine years saw Tony produce 24 all-conference players including the HCAC defensive lineman of the year.
Prior to the NCAA, Tony coached 17 years of high school football in Ohio and Kentucky reaching the playoffs 10 times and producing numerous all-conference defensive linemen including the GCL defensive lineman of the year four times. In addition, Tony coached in the 2001 East/West All-Star Game. Tony first served as the defensive line coach at Archbishop Moeller during the 2005, '06, and '07 seasons which saw Moeller reach the playoffs three times.

Tony is a graduate of Elder High School and Mount St. Joseph University and currently is a teacher for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Tony and his wife, Jenny, have two daughters, Emily  and Carly and are members of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish. Tony is also one of the founding members of the Joe Acito Memorial Scholarship which provides tuition assistance for students at Elder High School.
