Greg Derus- Varsity Tight Ends and Halfbacks Coach
Greg Derus has coached the Crusaders three times. Greg is a 1998 graduate of the University of Scranton where he received a Bachelors of Science in Counseling. Greg went on to obtain his master’s degree in theological studies from the University of Dayton in 2001.
Greg has been in high school education for over 17 years at various places including Dayton Chaminade Julienne, St. John’s College High School in Washington D.C. and St. Francis High School in Mountain View, California. Greg has served as the varsity assistant head coach/defensive coordinator at St. Francis in Mountain View, California., the varsity special teams coordinator and defensive line coach at St. John’s in Washington DC., and served through the years at Chaminade Julienne as the varsity special teams coordinator/offensive line coach/defensive line coach and receivers coach.
Greg has also served as the varsity assistant head coach/defensive coordinator for the men’s lacrosse program at St. John’s in Washington, DC, and as the head varsity men’s lacrosse coach at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, CA. Greg currently serves as the head men’s lacrosse coach at Archbishop Alter High School.
Greg is beginning his sixth year at Moeller serving as the school counselor for Trinity House, where he also oversees Moeller’s NCAA eligibility process and state testing. He is also an academic advisor for the football program.
