Freshman Baseball Game Notes — Conner (KY) May 6, 2021

MOELLER  11   CONNER  1  (6 Innings)

The Conner Cougars traveled from northern Kentucky to talk on the Crusaders today on Riverfront at the Blue Ash Sports Complex.  Luke McCullough made his first start of the year to pick up the win.  Luke pitched the 1st 2 innings allowing 1 run on 1 hit with 3 walks.  Sam Scuglik closed the game tossing 4 innings of shutout baseball with 3 hits, 3 walks and 9 strikeouts to pick up the save.  Down 1-0 Moeller answered with a leadoff double by Cale Migal.  Will McCullough walked and both stole 2nd and 3rd.  Jacob Asbeck then drove a long fly ball to right for the sac fly to score Migal.  Moe took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning.  Alec Bashardoustlet led off the inning with a base hit.  Luke Dietrich singled and Will McCullough lined a single up the middle to score Bash and Dietrich to put the Crusaders up 2-0.  Asbeck reached on an error, Snodgrass walked and Tanner Coe singled to send the Crusaders up 5-0 and a lead they would not lose.  The Big Moe scored 2 more in the 3rd with 2 outs, Kellan Klosterman singled as did Luke Dietrich and the red hot Cale Migal banged a double to send the score to 7-1.  Hitting leaders for Moeller were: Kellean Klosterman 3 for 3 including a double, Luke Dietrich 2for 2, Cale Migal 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, Tanner Coe 2 for 2 with a walk.  Others collecting hits Jacob Asbeck, Kayden Snodgrass, Will McCullough, JJ Miller, and Alec Bashardoust. The Moeller Freshman record goes to 17-4 and 7-1 in the GCL.
