MOELLER  12   VANDAILA BUTLER  1   (5 INNINGS)

The Moeller Freshman Baseball Team finished a spectacular season winning their last 13 games with a victory today over the Vandaila Butler Aviators by a score of 12-1 in 5 innings.  The Aviators scored first in the top of the 1^st inning, but it was all Crusaders after beginning with Moeller’s 1^st at bat.  The Big Moe sent 13 batters to the plate in the bottom of the 1^st inning and scored 9 runs.  Jordan Marshall walked, Will McCullough singled, Jacob Asbeck reached on an error, Kaden Snodgrass singled.  Then Ryan Land, Cale Migal, and Luke Dietrich all walked.  So after Moeller’s first 7 batters reached, Sam Scuglik popped out for the 1^st out.  Cameron Gilreath, Jordan Marshall and Will McCullough singled with Asbeck getting a sac fly to send a total of 9 runs to the plate in the inning.  In the 3^rd inning Cale Migal singled and Cameron Gilreath doubled to score Moe’s 10^th run.  Other Moeller players collecting hits on the day were Dean Seeger, Ryan Land, and Sam Scuglik.   The pitching duties fell on Alec Basherdoust, who threw 4 innings of 1 run baseball.  Bash gave up 3 hits and 5 walks to pick up the win.  Luke Dietrich pitched the 5 inning allowing no runs on 2 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout.  The Moeller Freshman finished the 2021 season as GCL CHAMPIONS with a league record of 8-1 and an overall regular season record of 23-4.  In addition the Crusaders were 4-0 in exhibition baseball.  GREAT JOB TO OUR MEN OF MOELLER!!!
