MOELLER 6 LASALLE 0
The Moeller Freshman Baseball team won the 2021 GCL Championship today behind the stellar pitching performance by Ryan Land. Ryan took a no-hitter into the 7th inning and allowed 2 infield hits to down the Lancers 6-0. Land only faced 22 batters and threw only 62 pitches, 40 of which were strikes. 6 of the 22 batters were retired on the 1st pitch. David Hagan led off the 3rd inning with a base hit and advanced to 2nd base on a passed ball. Forrest Day grounded out sending Hagan to 3rd base and scored on a Brock Wissel ground out rbi. Moeller added 2 more runs in the 4th inning. Will McCullough was hit by the pitch and stole 2nd base. Jacob Asbeck reached on an overthrow of 1st base to score McCullough and Kaden Snodgrass singled to score Asbeck. Moeller 3 LaSalle 0. In the 6th inning, the Crusaders received 3 walks to Asbeck, Snodgrass, and Land to set up the 2 rbi base hit by Cale Migal. Jordan Marshall walked to lead off the 7th inning and went to 2nd on a Will McCullough sac bunt. Jacob Asbeck then singled home Marshall to put the Frosh up 6-0. The Moeller Freshman record is not 20-4 and 8-1 to win the GCL Championship.
