Freshman Baseball Game Notes — Harrison April 17, 2021

MOELLER  6    HARRISON  5

On a rainy overcast day, the Moeller Freshman took a road trip to the west side of Cincinnati to take on the Harrison Wildcats.  Behind the excellent pitching of Alec Bashardoust,  the Crusaders came from a 1 run deficit to record their 10th game of the year.  In the top of the 2nd inning, Kaden Snodgrass led off the inning with a base hit.  Ryan Land grounded into a fielders choice and stole second base.

Will McCullough singled to score Land to tie the game at one each.  Cameron Gilreath lined a double to center to score McCullough to put the Crusaders up for good.  With one out in the 3rd inning, Snodgrass collected his 2nd hit of the day, Ryan Land doubled and went to 3rd when Jacob Asbeck reached on an error.  Land scored our 4th run on a balk.  Snodgrass led off the 5th inning by getting hit by the pitch.  Asbeck singled sending Snods to third and scored on a Will McCullough ground out.

The 6th inning saw Jordan Marshall hit by the pitch, and promptly stole second.  Jordan then scored on Ryan Land’s 2nd hit of the game. Bashardoust pitched 6 innings allowing 3 runs, 1 of which was earned on 4 hits, 1 walk and 1 strikeout to record the win.  Drew Budd pitched .1 inning giving up 2 earned runs,1 hit, 2 walks, and 1 strikeout.  Ethan Page pitched .2 inning with 1 strikeout to pick up the save.  The Moeller Freshman record stands at 10-2 overall and 3-0 to lead the GCL.
