The Moeller Freshman Baseball Team opened GCL league play against the Elder Panthers in a game dedicated to the memory of Mike Bell, a very special young man to Moeller High School and Coach Roth. Coming from being down 2-0 in the top of the 1st inning, the Frosh rose to the occasion, knocking the Panthers on their heals in the bottom of the 1st inning.

Jordan Marshall and Ethan Page led off the inning with walks. David Hagen singled to score Marshall. Ryan Land followed with a line drive single to score Page and Hagen to put the Crusaders up 3-2. Kaden Snodgrass singled and Forrest Day walked to load the bases. Will McCullough singled down the left field line to collect 2 rbis when Land and Snodgrass crossed to plate. McCullough scored Moeller’s 7th run of the inning on Marshall’s base hit. Moeller sent 12 batters to the plate in the inning.
Moeller scored their 8th run in the 2nd inning when Ryan Land banged out his second hit of the game. JJ Miller pinch ran for Land and scored on Will McCullough’s 3rd rbi of the game. Ethan Page started the game on the mound allowing 3 runs, 1 of which was earned, 5 hits, 1 walk and 3 strikeouts, to pick up the win. David Hagen tossed the next 3 innings allowing the Panthers only 1 walk and striking out 3 batters. Sam Scuglik and Evan Scott closed out the pitching with Scott picking up the save. The Moeller Freshman record goes to 2-1 and 1-0 in the GCL.
