Freshman Baseball Scrimmage Notes — Lakota East March 13, 2021

MOELLER 7 LAKOTA EAST 2 (SCRIMMAGE)
The 2021 addition of the Moeller Freshman Crusader Baseball Team opened play with a scrimmage at the Blue Ash Sports Complex. With the outside temperature around 50 degrees, pitching and some timely late hitting carried the Crusaders to a 7-2 victory.
The pitching staff led by starter Ryan Land held East to a total of 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 9 batters. Land pitched 2.2 innings allowing 1 hit with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Forrest Day, Ethan Page, Alec Bashardoust, and Sam Scuglik followed Land to the mound to preserve the win.
The Crusaders offense was shut down with no hits until the home half of the 6th inning when JJ Miller led off the inning with a walk. Ryan Land singled to right and Forrest Day singled to score Miller. Sam Scuglik walked to load the bases.
Tanner Coe drove a fly ball to right for a Sacrifice Fly to score Land to set up the bomb that Seth Williams hit over the leftfielders head to score Day and Scuglik and put the Crusaders up 7-2.
