Moeller Football improves to (4-1), (1-0) in the GCL South!
BIG MOE used an impressive second half shutout of St. Xavier to secure GCL victory #1.

Moeller climbs to (4-1), (1-0) in the GCL this season after a dominant second half performance against the Bombers.

Matt Ponatoski finished his night going 16-26 for 136 yards and 1 touchdown.
On the ground, the Moeller signal caller added 5 carries for 17 yards, with a long of 14 yards.
Tyler Josleyn and
Dante Ware were both excellent as well, combining for 27 carries and 165 yards rushing.
Both Josleyn and Ware were able to find the end zone as well, Ware started the scoring early in the first.
The leading receiver for the Crusaders was none other then
Reggie Watson who totaled 8 receptions for 89 yards.
Watson added a beautiful touchdown catch early in the second quarter that gave Moeller a lead they would not surrender.
On defense, the Crusaders were absolutely dominant holding a good Bombers offense to just 13 points, 0 in the second half.

Conner Cuozzo was unstoppable, he finished with 8 tackles, 7 solo, 3.5 TFLs, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Paxton Dodsworth had the play of the game on defense with 49 yard interception return that led to more points.
17 different Crusaders recorded a tackle in this game making it an all around team effort to hold down the Bomber offense.
Big Moe is now off and running in the GCL South with the La Salle Lancers up next and the Elder Panthers on the horizon.
Moeller vs. La Salle is scheduled for this Friday, September 26 at Mount St. Joseph University. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM.
