ARCHBISHOP MOELLER NAMES NEW HEAD VARSITY SOCCER COACH!
(CINCINNATI, OHIO, February 21, 2025) Tony Ripberger has been named Moeller's head varsity soccer coach. Ripberger brings over 20 years of coaching experience to Moeller, having recently served as the varsity head coach at Madeira High School, where he was named Ohio Small School Coach of the Year, Division III Public School Coach of the Year, CHL Coach of the Year, and Enquirer Coach of the Year. His dedication to creating a positive and competitive environment led his team to multiple district and regional championships. Ripberger has coached for Cincinnati United for the past 12 years as well as the US Soccer Olympic Development Program, Classics Hammer and Kings. In addition, he served as the president of the Southwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association and is on the leadership board.
"As a coach, my primary goal is to help shape young men who will become future husbands, fathers, and community leaders, Ripberger shared. "Through the game of soccer, I strive to instill values of respect, responsibility, and integrity that extend far beyond the field. I believe that sports offer a unique opportunity to teach life lessons, and I am committed to guiding players in their personal development both on and off the pitch. I emphasize the importance of being fundamentally sound, teaching players the technical skills and tactical understanding necessary to play the game the right way. However, my coaching extends beyond just soccer; I want to create individuals who exhibit strong character, teamwork, and self-discipline in every aspect of their lives. I expect my players to conduct themselves with respect and accountability, whether they are on the field, in school, or in the community. Together, we will build a culture where hard work, sportsmanship, and a commitment to excellence are non-negotiable. By developing great players and, more importantly, great young men, I aim to ensure that my athletes leave the game not only as better soccer players, but as better people."
Moeller Athletic Director
