#1 Moeller took a trip to Xavier University's Hayden Field yesterday for the first GCL South matchup of the year.
The Crusaders took care of business knocking off the Panthers in just 5 innings of action.
Junior ace
Zion Theophilus got the start for Big Moe, pitching 3 innings and finishing with 7 strikeouts.
Seniors
Sam Scuglik and
Tyler Heflin got some work out of the bullpen each getting 1 inning of action.
Moeller's pitching staff combined to only give up 2 runs on 5 hits, striking out 10 total Elder Panthers.
At the plate, the Crusaders started hot and stayed hot scoring 19 total runs on 14 hits.
The big inning for Moeller came in the top of the 3rd where the Crusaders scored a season high 11 runs.
This marked the most runs Moeller Baseball has scored in 1 inning since May 31, 2022 against Reading.
With the win, Big Moe jumps to (3-0), (1-0) in the GCL South this season.
Next up for the Crusaders is another HOME game vs. Loveland on Saturday, March 30.
#1 Moeller will also being departing for Atlanta, Georgia next week for their annual spring break tournament.
