Game Recap:
Moeller closed out the 2023 regular season this past Friday night with a dominating win over Detroit King.
The Crusaders kicked off the scoring with an
Isaac Shade 49 yard touchdown run early in the 2nd quarter.
The senior running back finished the game carrying the ball 15 times for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns. Shade averaged right around 4.4 yards per carry.
Sophomore quarterback
Matt Ponatoski was excellent once again on Friday night.
Ponatoski finished the night going 19-26 for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The offense kept it rolling in the 2nd half after a getting out to a 17-0 halftime lead.
Moeller would end up scoring 3 more times after halftime bringing the final point total to 38.
The Crusader defense was outstanding once again, keeping another team under double digit points.
The defensive line was dominant up front, holding King to just 12 yards rushing.
Senior linebacker
Kyler Paul lead the defense in tackles. Paul finished with 7 total tackles, 2 of which were tackles for loss.
Connor Cuozzo,
Micah Rice, and
Griff Daley were also standouts for the Moeller defense. All 3 recorded 4 tackles a piece for the Crusaders.
King was never able to find any rhythm on offense. The Moeller front 7 controlled this ballgame from start to finish.
The Crusaders close out the regular season with a (6-4) record. State Playoffs up NEXT!
