Moeller Lacrosse has had an up and down start to the 2022 season. After a tough loss to Loveland last week, the guys bounced back in big way this past Saturday against St. X!
Last night the 2-2 Crusaders hit the road for a matchup with the Mason Comets.
Mason was only 1-3 on the season coming into this matchup. However, they are always a tough out, especially at home.
After a slow start, Moeller found themselves trailing at the break for the 2nd straight game.
Head Coach
Mark Lynch was tough on the guys during halftime making some key adjustments which inspired a remarkable 2nd half come from behind performance.
Moeller started to claw back early in the 3rd quarter after a goal from senior
Jackson Garrett made it 4-3 Mason.
Goals from
Jay Adkins and
Nick Kellogg tied the game at 5 late in the 3rd quarter. You could really see a jump in intensity from the guys in the 2nd half.
Joe Ginnetti continued the momentum and was able to give Moeller their first lead of the game with 6 minutes to go in the final period.
Mason was able to tie the game back up at 6 with less then a minute to play which eventually sent the game to OT.
The overtime lacrosse rule is Golden Goal, which means next score wins!
Senior
Zach Wendling was the hero in this one for the Crusaders ripping a shot in for the win.
Big Moe comes from behind again to grab a big road win. The momentum is really starting to build around this team. Coach Lynch has these guys headed in the right direction.
LET'S GO BIG MOE!!!
