Box Score After a massive win over GCL rival La Salle the night before, the Crusaders responded with an even more impressive performance against a very talented Turpin squad.
Turpin came into this matchup with an 11-1 record including a huge home victory over the Elder Panthers.
Moeller lost to Elder earlier in the year, so you knew this was going to a tough matchup for the Crusaders. Especially following a very hostile road game against the Lancers Friday night.
However, the Crusaders took a 10 point lead at the break in this one, behind an excellent first half from senior
Yoro Diallo.
Diallo had 10 of Moeller's 23 first half points and played some great defense to help give the Crusaders the early lead.
Moeller came out in the 2nd half with more intensity as they were able to pull away from the Spartans.
The Crusaders used a total team effort in the 2nd half to cruise to a 21 point victory. Turpin had no answers for the size and athleticism of the Crusaders.
This defense has been absolutely terrifying for teams to deal with this season and we saw it again on Saturday.
Your Moeller Crusaders (13-3) now turn their attention to arguably the biggest weekend of the year featuring two big time matchups.
Moeller hosts Elder for a rematch this Friday night in a game that will have a big say in who wins the GCL South this season.
The Crusaders then travel to Centerville, OH on Saturday for a showdown with the #1 team in Ohio and undefeated Centerville!
Which means..... WE NEED YOU MOELLER FAMILY, LETS GO BIG MOE!!!
Final Score:
Moeller - 52
Turpin - 31
