Moeller Crusaders Varsity Cruises to Victory at Elder
The Moeller Crusaders asserted their will over Elder on their way to an easy 10-1 victory
Moeller pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning as a Panther error scored one run
Jack Pacetti grounded out, driving in another run.
The Crusaders tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower was led by
Michael Tennie,
John Codner, and Pacetti, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Austin Strickland pitched the Crusaders to victory, allowing four hits and one run over six innings, striking out four and walking one.
Zach Miesch threw one inning in relief.
Schmidt took the loss for Elder, lasting four innings, allowing no hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one, but was victimized by the defense as Elder committed three errors.
Moeller tallied seven hits as Aidan Noyes and
Ryan Galanie each collected two apiece. The Crusaders didn't commit a single error as Pacetti had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
With the win, the Crusaders remain atop the GCL South improving the record to 4-1 in conference and 14-3 overall.
